The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed a $10 million financing package with Schoolnet India Ltd (SIL) to improve learning outcomes in government schools across India.
The project aims to scale up digital learning infrastructure in 30,000 government schools, directly benefiting 45 million students. Under the initiative, computer laboratories will be installed in at least 1,000 government schools.
The Maharashtra government has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Google for Education to train teachers in AI and digital technology.
The 18-month initiative aims to strengthen teachers' digital competencies, improve AI literacy, and promote technology-enabled learning in schools, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
