Union Minister Rajnath Singh has released a commemorative volume titled “Operation Sindoor” in New Delhi.

The book documents the experiences and testimonies of 100 personnel from the Indian Armed Forces who participated in the operation. The volume was compiled under the guidance of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan, with publication support provided by the United Service Institution of India (USI).

PT Usha, the President of Indian Olympic Association, and Dr. Dilip Tirkey, the President of Hockey India, have released a book titled “India’s Olympic Gold: Hockey Triumph at Amsterdam” in New Delhi.

Authored by hockey historian K Arumugam and published by Stick2Hockey, the book commemorates the 98th anniversary of the Indian Men’s Hockey Team winning their first Olympic Gold medal at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics.

Kavinder Gupta, the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, has officially released the “Dogri-Punjabi Dictionary” authored by the late Chandan Negi.

The book release ceremony was jointly organized by the Punjabi Lekhak Sabha and the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) at KL Saigal Hall in Jammu. The dictionary is designed to promote linguistic harmony and preserve the literary heritage of the Dogri and Punjabi languages.

The book “Taiwan Travelogue”, written by Taiwanese author Yang Shuang-zi and translated by Lin King, has won the International Booker Prize 2026. It is the first book originally written in Mandarin Chinese to win this prestigious award.

The prize carries a cash reward of £50,000, which is split equally between the author and the translator. The story revolves around Aoyama Chizuko, a Japanese novelist who embarks on a culinary exploration of the island during a government-sponsored tour instead of performing her official duties.

Other books shortlisted for the prize include “The Nights Are Quiet in Tehran” by Shida Bazyar, “She Who Remains” by Rene Karabash, “The Director” by Daniel Kehlmann, “On Earth As It Is Beneath” by Ana Paula Maia, and “The Witch” by Marie NDiaye.
