Kavinder Gupta, the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, has officially released the “Dogri-Punjabi Dictionary” authored by the late Chandan Negi.
The book release ceremony was jointly organized by the Punjabi Lekhak Sabha and the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) at KL Saigal Hall in Jammu. The dictionary is designed to promote linguistic harmony and preserve the literary heritage of the Dogri and Punjabi languages.
The Dogri-Punjabi Dictionary, authored by the late Chandan Negi, was released by the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Kavinder Gupta. The ceremony was jointly organized by the Punjabi Lekhak Sabha and the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL).
The book “Taiwan Travelogue”, written by Taiwanese author Yang Shuang-zi and translated by Lin King, has won the International Booker Prize 2026. It is the first book originally written in Mandarin Chinese to win this prestigious award.
The prize carries a cash reward of £50,000, which is split equally between the author and the translator. The story revolves around Aoyama Chizuko, a Japanese novelist who embarks on a culinary exploration of the island during a government-sponsored tour instead of performing her official duties.
Other books shortlisted for the prize include “The Nights Are Quiet in Tehran” by Shida Bazyar, “She Who Remains” by Rene Karabash, “The Director” by Daniel Kehlmann, “On Earth As It Is Beneath” by Ana Paula Maia, and “The Witch” by Marie NDiaye.
Union Minister Amit Shah has launched two books titled “The Bench, the Bar, and the Bizarre” and “The Lawful and the Awful” at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The books are authored by Tushar Mehta (the Solicitor General of India) and published by Rupa Publications India.
General Manoj Mukund Naravane (Retd), the 28th Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), has released a book titled “The Curious and the Classified: Unearthing Military Myths and Mysteries”.
The book, published by Rupa Publications, investigates various military myths and historical mysteries.
Suman Bery, the Vice Chairman of the NITI Aayog, has launched an anthology titled “Divya Bharat: A Window to the Soul of India” in New Delhi. The publication aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage and tourism potential of the nation.
The anthology features 3,000 curated entries, comprising 2,100 tourism destinations and 1,200 cultural listings. This initiative supports national efforts and the strategic plan to develop 50 global tourist destinations.
