Under the 2026 BRICS Chairship of India, the 12th BRICS Environment Ministers Meeting was held in New Delhi, chaired by Union Minister Bhupender Yadav.

Additionally, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) under the Ministry of Communications organized the BRICS Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Track in Pune under the theme “Innovate, Cooperate and Transform (ICT) for a Resilient Future”.

India has signed an MoU with Brazil to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of Telecommunications and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

The agreement was signed by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and the counterpart Frederico de Filho on the sidelines of the BRICS ICT Track Meeting held in Pune, Maharashtra.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia has released a commemorative postage stamp worth ₹5 at Bikaner House, New Delhi, to mark the birth centenary of Satish Gujral.

The stamp, issued by the Department of Posts (DoP), honours his outstanding contributions to Indian art, architecture, and culture. The stamp was designed by Anuj Kumar, based on a proposal by Raseel Gujral Ansal. It is to be noted that Satish Gujral was a recipient of the Padma Vibhushan, awarded in 1999.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has unveiled "Scale without boundaries" as the theme for the 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026.

The event, recognized as the largest digital technology forum in Asia, is scheduled to be held in October 2026 at Yashobhoomi (India International Convention & Expo Centre) in New Delhi. The 10th edition of the IMC is anchored around four key pillars: Srishti, Suraksha, Sashakt, and Samvardhan.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia has conferred the 'Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Telecom Excellence Awards- 2025' to Amantya Technologies Pvt Ltd and Finaara for their contributions in telecom technology.

The awards were instituted by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) under the Ministry of Communications to promote innovations in the telecom sector.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia and Meghalaya CM Conrad K Sangma have launched the "Mission Golden Spice – Integrated Lakadong Turmeric Value Chain Enhancement Project" in New Delhi.

It is a 5-year roadmap (2025–2030) with a total outlay of ₹175.45 crore, aimed at transforming Meghalaya's Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged Lakadong turmeric into a globally competitive premium spice.

The mission is divided into two phases: Phase 1 (Value Chain Strengthening) and Phase 2 (Expansion and Scale-up). The project funding is shared between the state government, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare (MoA&FW), and the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), with MDoNER contributing 50% of the budget.

13 July 2026 AGREEMENTS

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has signed an MoU with the Telecommunications Standards Development Society, India (TSDSI) to enhance the contribution of India to global telecom standards and accelerate the Bharat 6G Mission.

The agreement was signed in New Delhi during the 9th TSDSI Technical Deep Dive (TTDD) 2026 in the presence of Union Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia.
