The Union Cabinet has approved the 'Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana Rasayan' (BHAVYA - Rasayan Scheme) to establish 3 dedicated Chemical Parks in India. The scheme has a total outlay of ₹3,030 crore (₹3,000 crore for infrastructure and ₹30 crore for administrative expenses) and will be implemented over 5 years from FY27 to FY31.

Under the scheme, the central government will provide a grant of up to ₹1,000 crore per park, while the respective state government must contribute a minimum of ₹500 crore.

NITI Aayog has released its first-ever "Investment Friendliness Index (IFI) 2026", unveiled by its Vice Chairman Ashok Kumar Lahiri.

Gujarat emerged as the top overall performer with a score of 56.6, followed by Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Goa, and Odisha. Among large states, Gujarat is the leader, while Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal are the worst performers.

Uttarakhand is the leader among Hilly & Northeastern states, and Goa is the leader among City States & UTs. Lakshadweep recorded the lowest overall score nationwide, followed by Ladakh and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The index evaluates all 28 states and 8 Union Territories (UTs) based on 84 indicators across 8 economic pillars: Infrastructure, Business Climate, Government Policy, Resources, Regulatory Ease, Institutional Environment, Financial Health, and Environmental Resilience.

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) and the Rajasthan government have organised the 29th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG) at the Rajasthan International Centre in Jaipur.

The conference was inaugurated by Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma under the theme "Viksit Bharat 2047: AI-enabled, Data-driven & Secure Digital Governance."

The National Awards for e-Governance 2026 were presented during the event, recognising excellence with 17 awards across 7 categories. The conference concluded with the adoption of the "Jaipur Declaration on e-Governance 2026," which establishes a roadmap for strengthening AI-enabled, data-driven, and secure digital governance across India.

Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan have launched the 'Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Yojana (VB-G RAM G)' nationwide at Mukkavaripalli village in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.

The centre has committed a total financial outlay of ₹7.5 lakh crore for the implementation of the scheme over a 5-year period. The annual outlay for the scheme is ₹1.51 lakh crore, with the Centre contributing ₹95,692 crore and the States providing the remaining 40% of the funding.

The Ministry of Tourism and NITI Aayog have jointly launched a report titled "Unlocking Growth in Tourism and Hospitality Sector: Recommendations for Non-Financial Regulatory Reforms". The report provides 49 recommendations across 14 reform areas to streamline the sector.

The strategic plan aims to expand India's tourism economy to $3 trillion and attract 100 million inbound international visitors by 2047.

It is to be noted that according to the Travel & Tourism Development Index (TTDI), India ranks 6th globally in Natural Resources and 9th in Cultural Resources. Despite this, India ranks 39th overall on the TTDI and currently accounts for less than 1.5% of global international tourist arrivals.

Harsh Vardhan, the President of the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA), has been honoured with the Global Prestige Award at the House of Lords in UK.

The award was presented under the theme 'Visionaries of Change: Charting the Course to Viksit Bharat 2047'. It is to be noted that he was elected as the youngest President in the history of the BCA in 2025.

The National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) has celebrated 50 years of its contribution to India's urban development. The golden jubilee celebrations were held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi under the theme 'Resilient Urban India @2047'.

Dr PK Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, attended the event as the Chief Guest. During the event, the National Urban Learning Platform was launched to strengthen technical capacity building in urban governance through an integrated hybrid learning system and newly introduced technical courses.

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has unveiled the ‘Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin)’ (VB-G RAM G) framework.

The rural development initiative has been allocated a budget of ₹1.25 lakh crore and is set to be effective from July 2026. It aims to generate employment, create village assets, and promote digital governance across nearly 2.8 lakh Gram Panchayats.

PM Modi and former PM HD Deve Gowda have released the publication titled ‘Saundarya Lahari and Shiva Mahimna Stotram’ in Mandya, popularly known as the “Sugar City”. He also highlighted a “nine-point, citizen-driven development agenda” to facilitate the goals of “Viksit Karnataka” and “Viksit Bharat”.
