The facility has been established by Sahasra Semiconductors Pvt Ltd under the Scheme for Promotion of Manufacturing of Electronic Components and Semiconductors (SPECS). Constructed with an investment of over ₹150 crore, the unit spans an area of 57,000 sq ft.

India has assumed the chairmanship of the Common Criteria Development Board (CCDB) for a 2-year period, from April 2026 to April 2028. The leadership was confirmed during the 1st Quarter Meeting of the Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA) held in Tokyo, Japan.

Under the CCRA, member countries accept each other’s IT security certificates without re-certification, facilitating seamless global trade in secure IT products. It is to be noted that India has been a member of the CCRA since 2013.

IndiaAI Mission has signed an MoU with the Bengaluru-based Karya, a Nonprofit Organization (NPO), to enhance accessibility within the AI economy. The partnership focuses on data, technology, and capacity building, specifically to strengthen the infrastructure of AIKosh, the national AI data platform of India for research and development (R&D). Both organizations also aim to develop model evaluation frameworks and establish standards for dataset quality, validation, and interoperability.

The collaboration aims to integrate AI-powered multilingual access across various digital platforms and services of AYUSH. Under the partnership, BHASHINI technologies will be utilized to provide services related to AYUSH in all 22 Scheduled Indian languages.

The Union Cabinet has approved two semiconductor projects under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) 1.0 with an investment of ₹3,936 crore. The projects include the first commercial Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology-based Mini/Micro-Light Emitting Diode (LED) display facility in India by Crystal Matrix Ltd (CML) and a semiconductor packaging unit by Suchi Semicon Pvt Ltd (SSPL) in Gujarat.

These are the final projects sanctioned under ISM 1.0, which is a specialized division of the Digital India Corporation under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). It is to be noted that ISM was launched in 2021 with a total outlay of ₹76,000 crore to build a self-reliant semiconductor and display manufacturing ecosystem in India.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has signed a 5-year MoU with the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) to strengthen the cybersecurity and digital forensic capabilities of the Aadhaar infrastructure.
