The state governments of Bihar and Jharkhand have signed an MoU for sharing the water of Sone River. The agreement was finalized in the presence of Union Minister Amit Shah.

This settlement resolves a long-standing water dispute in eastern India. It is expected to facilitate the provision of irrigation water to millions of farmers across rural regions of Bihar and Jharkhand.

Union Minister Amit Shah has inaugurated the new premises of the National Urban Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation (NUCFDC) at Sharada Sadan in Fort, Mumbai, during the 'Sahkar Nav-Kranti' programme.

During the event, he released the book 'Operational Risk Management: A Practical Guide to Urban Co-operative Banks', authored by former RBI Deputy General Manager (DGM) GP Mistry.

Additionally, NUCFDC has launched 'Bank in a Box', an integrated technology platform designed to provide Urban Co-operative Banks (UCBs) with access to multiple banking and technology services. An MoU was also exchanged between NUCFDC and the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU).

Union Minister Amit Shah has flagged off the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra’ campaign at Murugaa Theatre Signal in Puducherry. The special focus of the campaign this year is the commemoration of 150 years of “Vande Mataram”.

It is to be noted that the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative was launched by PM Narendra Modi in 2022 under ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The campaign encourages citizens to celebrate the Tricolour as a symbol of national unity, sovereignty, and identity.

Union Minister Amit Shah has launched various initiatives during the 5th Foundation Day Ceremony of the Ministry of Cooperation held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

The event was organised in alignment with the vision of PM Narendra Modi of "Sahakar Se Samriddhi" (Prosperity through Cooperation).

He also announced that the centre plans to establish a Cooperative Life Insurance Company to expand the cooperative sector.

Regarding infrastructure, 135 godowns were transferred, 85 were inaugurated, and the foundation stone was laid for 47 grain-storage godowns.

The FCRA 2.0 portal transitions the regulatory framework for Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) into a fully digital system. Hosted on the MeghRaj Government Cloud, the portal supports 14,500 active FCRA-registered organizations and manages up to 20,000 application cycles annually.

Union Minister Amit Shah has launched 4 digital policing applications at the 26th All India Fingerprint Conference in New Delhi. The applications are National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB)-Abhigyan, Criminal Procedure Identification (CrPI), e-Prosecution 2.0, and e-Forensics 2.0.

These applications are designed to strengthen the Integrated Criminal Justice System (ICJS) by leveraging AI for biometric identification, forensic integration, and digital prosecution management.

Union Minister Amit Shah has launched four initiatives to expand governance and assistance for farmers in New Delhi. The 'DRISHTI' portal was introduced as a dedicated tracking system to streamline the real-time inventory management of pulses and oilseeds.

The digital e-auction platform 'NAFEX.in' of the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) was launched to connect farmers directly with buyers to eliminate middlemen, ensuring transparent bidding and direct payments to the bank accounts of farmers within 48 hours.

The 'NAFED-KALYAN' scholarship was launched as a social welfare initiative that allocates 1% of the profits of NAFED to fund the higher education and career development of the children of farmers. Additionally, an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) portal was launched to strengthen internal digital governance and increase overall operational efficiency.

Six northern states including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan, have signed an MoU for the implementation of the Kishau Multipurpose Dam Project. The agreement was signed during a meeting chaired by Union Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi.

The project is a hydroelectric and water storage initiative on the Tons River, a tributary of the Yamuna, located on the border of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh in the Dehradun-Sirmour region. The project is estimated to cost ₹15,000 crore. The Central Government will provide 90% of the water component cost as Central Assistance, while the remaining 10% will be shared by the participating states.

Union Minister Amit Shah has launched the Land Port Management System (LPMS) – VINIMAY, a digital platform in New Delhi. Developed by the Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the system aims to modernize land port operations, facilitate trade, and strengthen border security.

The implementation of the platform is expected to eliminate 90% of paperwork, reduce truck waiting time by 40-60%, and cut gate processing time by 22-35%.

13 June 2026 AGREEMENTS

The centre has signed a tripartite MoU with the state governments of Assam and Nagaland to resume mineral oil and natural gas operations along their contested border. The agreement was signed in the presence of Union Minister Amit Shah.

The pact covers over 1,000 sq km of area along the border, encompassing 6 identified disputed oilfields. The revenue generated from the hydrocarbon resources extracted from these regions will be shared between the two states based on a 50:50 formula.
