The Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the restructuring of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), effective November 1, 2026.

The move aims to shift from territorial supervision to sector-specific functional commands to strengthen security at critical infrastructure and strategic establishments of India by reorganizing 8 of its 11 territorial sectors.

The Ministry of Cooperation has mandated the Multi-State Co-operative Societies (Auditor’s Report) Order, 2026 (MSCARO, 2026) to introduce a standardised and risk-based audit reporting framework.

The framework is designed to strengthen transparency, financial discipline, accountability, and regulatory oversight in Multi-State Cooperative Societies (MSCS). Under this order, auditors are required to report on key financial, administrative, governance, and statutory compliance parameters in a standardized format. The reporting format includes clear Yes/No responses supported by relevant remarks.

Union Minister Amit Shah has chaired the inaugural Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Home Ministers’ Meeting (HMM) in New Delhi.

The event concluded with the unanimous adoption of the ‘Delhi Declaration’ by the member states to strengthen regional security and cooperation. The Registration of Births and Deaths (RBD) Amendment Act, 2026 will come into force on October 1, 2026. It strengthens Section 13(3) of the RBD Act, 1969.

Under the act, reporting births or deaths after 1 year but within 2 years requires approval from the District Magistrate (DM), Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), or an authorized Executive Magistrate, subject to verification and fee. For registrations delayed by more than 2 years, an order from the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) is mandatory to ensure judicial scrutiny.
